Due to its threatened wild population, this fish is listed as a protected species (CITES Appendix I). 2. Physical Characteristics Color: Has large scales with intense red gradations, ranging from pink to blood red ( Super Red ). Shape: Its body is long, slender, and it has a barbel on its mouth which makes it resemble a dragon in Chinese mythology. Size: Can grow to a length of about 60β90 cm in an adequate aquarium. 3. Symbolism of Good Luck In Asian culture, the Red Arowana is believed to bring good luck, prosperity, and protection to its owner. Because of this significance and its rarity, this fish is one of the most expensive ornamental fish in the world.
