An interesting read of a fascinating (albeit controversial) use of AI from @bethanymarz. What I got out of this wasn’t so much an endorsement of using AI to diagnose medical conditions, but more of a “this is what you have to be aware of when you engage with AI”. And I really enjoyed learning about their process. I’m not entirely certain I agree with the conclusion about gaining agency over one’s own decisions. Like with any “googling” of medical conditions, it can just as easily diminish agency and result in false diagnoses if one doesn’t have the analytical presence of mind enough to scrutinize the inputs and the outputs and to understand the biases that may be at play. https://hardmodefirst.xyz/how-i-used-ai-to-save-my-life-in-77-prompts-a-debrief
