I wonder how many people would rather a direct democracy, with voting done through mobile apps. Has never been possible before.

That’s the usual response I get 😔 I think the wisdom of crowds is a real thing and should be harnessed.

Direct democracy is the goal, I agree. But it only works well if there is an accomplished, educated majority, like in Switzerland. That means free education and social welfare in the first place!

I think direct democracy works fine, just need an easy way for people to assign voter proxies on a per vote basis. I assign my domestic issues to one proxy, international maybe to another etc. if I don’t like what they do, I assign a new proxy. No need to wait 2 years for a new congressional election

That’s what I was thinking, obviously not everyone controls everything all the time, but we can do way better than picking one proxy every couple of years.

It has solved the issue of bad judgment from an uneducated populace. That’s a red herring argument at this point. Proxies solve it, gotta get the word out :)

Definitely not going to happen in the US. If you want to participate in direct democracy within your lifetime, your best chance is moving to one of the more liberal European countries
