BlockBeats reports that on August 8th, according to mempool data, miners mined an empty block (i.e., a block that only contains the block reward Coinbase transaction) at Bitcoin height 855858, with a time interval of only 9 seconds from the previous block height. Miners choose to package empty blocks for economic benefits, which is the wisest choice for them. To make full use of this time for mining and to avoid conflicts with transactions included in the parent block, miners cannot fill the block with transactions, meaning they can only attempt to mine an empty block.
