Simplicity is the key to clarity. I didn't truly understand this until my closet became the physical manifestation of my anxiety.
I used to stand before it every morning, overwhelmed by options I didn't love and clothes I hadn't worn in years. Each piece was a reminder of a past self, an unfulfilled "someday," or a bad purchase. It was exhausting.
So, one weekend, I did it. I pulled everything out and made three piles: Keep, Donate, Toss. The process was surprisingly emotional. But as the donation bags grew heavier, I felt lighter.
The next morning, I opened my closet and felt… peace. I could see every item I loved. Getting dressed was no longer a chore, but a simple, joyful act of self-care.
That small, clear space had a ripple effect. With one less thing to worry about, my mind felt calmer. I had more mental energy to focus on my goals, my relationships, and my well-being.
