Unnecessary Reviews: Halo (2001) I finally played the first Halo from 2001, and surprisingly, it still holds up pretty well. The game is 24 years old, yet neither the graphics nor the gameplay feel outdated. The visuals don’t make my eyes bleed, and the shooting mechanics are solid—well, as long as you’re not stuck using that peashooter they give you at the start. Want to take down aliens with a sniper rifle or their own weapons? Go for it. Prefer blowing up their ships with a rocket launcher? Be my guest. Tired of running? Grab a Warthog, pick up some AI buddies, and go full Mad Max. At one point, they even let you drive a tank—not quite Battlefield levels of destruction, but still a blast.
