Geography profoundly shapes identity by influencing personal self-concept, cultural practices, and national belonging. Physical features like climate, terrain, and resources affect lifestyles, economies, and social norms—e.g., coastal regions foster maritime cultures, while mountains encourage isolation and distinct traditions. Places evoke emotional attachments, forming "place identity" where environments contribute to one's sense of self and community. On a larger scale, geography reinforces national identity through shared landscapes, borders, and historical adaptations, binding people to imagined communities. Yet, globalization can dilute these ties. Overall, where we live molds who we are.https://www.pew.org/en/trend/archive/summer-2016/how-geography-shapes-our-identity https://study.com/academy/lesson/impact-of-geographic-traits-on-identity-culture.html https://www.oxfordbibliographies.com/display/document/obo-9780199874002/obo-9780199874002-0030.xml https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Place_identity
