As Fenis steps into his favorite jazz lounge, ready to unwind, the smooth melodies come to a screeching halt in his mind — there they are. Jack and Trixie, nestled together in a dimly lit booth across the room. Rage overtakes reason; Fenis charges at Jack in a blur of fury. When the chaos subsides, Trixie looks down at the two battered men, wondering why she ever bothered with either of them.
