i predicted this a few days ago, and i'm not surprised.
one of the most embarrassing things to happen on base played out in real time.
the $BRIAN token was supposedly going to be the first $100M mcap B20 token on base. @barmstrong changed his pfp to it to show support, and people bridged back from robinhood to base hoping to see it through. at least that’s what the community hoped.
then all of a sudden he changed it back to a punk.
$BRIAN crashed 95% from $22M to $1.5M. 10,000+ people cooked.
the craziest part? this isn't even the first time:
- jesse's token
- content coins
- zora leaving for solana
- the base app "social" to "merkle" farcaster getting sold
- chain outages
- base token tease with no delivery
the community has been saying this for months. base just keeps experimenting on the people who trust them most.
not saying this to be negative. the pattern is just undeniable at this point.
