Every card in Turbo Gum has a rarity.
Today we’re kicking off with a сommon - but don’t let that fool you.
Today’s card: Ford Explorer 4x4 (1991)
The car that started the SUV revolution.
When Ford dropped the Explorer in 1991 it killed the station wagon overnight.
A 4.0L V6 under the hood, body-on-frame construction and that boxy shape that screamed adventure. It became the best-selling SUV in America almost instantly.
Families wanted it. Suburbs were built around it. Before the Explorer there was no such thing as an SUV culture - Ford literally invented the category.
