The Anatomy of Today’s QR Scam:

It exploited something on Farcaster to send you a fake notification masquerading as a legitimate project. 

The scammer made a clanker coin to purposely deceive you. 

The scammer copied a well loved mini app with the intention to trick you. 

Tuesday’s are when many casters are online due to rewards, tips, etc.  You are emotional (you got money or didn’t get money and have feelings).

Surprise airdrops are common. You may have heard chatter about a QR airdrop and started to have FOMO. 

The scammer sent out the notification soon after the legitimate mini app. 

This was designed to manipulate you into clicking and not stopping to think. 

This will not be the last scam of this kind. 


☑ Stay vigilant. 
☑ Ask group chats and on the timeline when things feel suspect. 
☑ Search for info from official project accounts. 
☑ Check the developer’s name listed at the top of every mini app.
