OpenAI has launched GPT-4.1, a new AI model that outperforms its predecessor, GPT-4o, in several key areas. GPT-4.1 can handle up to 1 million tokens of context, a significant increase from GPT-4o's 128,000 tokens. This expanded capacity enables GPT-4.1 to process and analyze larger inputs, including text, images and videos, resulting in more complex and accurate responses. The model excels in coding, scoring 54.6% on SWE-bench Verified, and demonstrates improved instruction-following abilities, achieving a 10.5% absolute increase over GPT-4o on the MultiChallenge benchmark. GPT-4.1 is available in three versions: GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini and GPT-4.1 nano, each offering varying levels of performance and cost-effectiveness.
