Assertion: the last bastions of written content which an AI can’t mimic will be 1) funny tv/ movies 2) mind blowing speculative fiction Is this just wishful thinking?

But that’s the whole point. All the AI can do is mimic. It’s extremely sophisticated pattern recognition - unable to create a truly new joke, or idea. I have no doubt it could write a pretty funny derivative comedy, but not one that tells us jokes we haven’t heard in some form or another already.
Sports seem strangely insulated from developments in tech. In the NBA they’re playing basically the same year as they were 50 years ago. Will we be able to say the same in another 50?
