In my junior high art class, we were introduced to the Greek sculptures. The perfect proportions and the sense of beauty and strength in those marble figures were just breathtaking. I spent a lot of time looking at pictures of them and trying to understand how the ancient Greeks managed to create such timeless art. I told my classmates that I dreamed of going to Greece one day, visiting the Acropolis and the museums there to see the real sculptures. I even started to sculpt little figures with clay in my free time, hoping to get a bit of that Greek artistic charm. We all had this longing to explore the origin of Western art in Greece and experience the charm of those ancient artworks in person.
