Instead of remaining idle, investors may allocate stablecoin holdings into relatively low-risk lending, liquidity provision, or money-market-style protocols to generate returns while avoiding directional exposure to volatile assets. From an asset allocation perspective, this positions stablecoins as an income-generating defensive allocation, comparable to short-duration fixed-income instruments in traditional finance.
