There is a MASSIVE difference between on-chain spam and on-chain art
Rare satoshis are by far the best canvas for fine art that humanity has ever seen.
Here are some qualities of art inscribed on rare sats:
- permanent
- permissionless
- additional layer of scarcity
- immune to vandalism or damage
- visible to anyone, anywhere in the world
- secure (if your private key is)
- can be quickly moved without risk
- verifiable provenance
- censorship resistant
I'm sure there are points I forgot to mention as well
My belief is that little bit of actual spam on the chain is a perfectly fine and necessary trade-off if it means we also have access to the greatest art storage medium ever invented, on the most secure global network we've ever had
