The Myth of “Having It All”
The phrase “having it all” has long been dangled in front of women as both a dream and a measuring stick — a career, a family, a social life, perfect health, and personal fulfillment. But in reality, it often translates to “doing it all,” with little structural support.
Society celebrates the “superwoman” who juggles everything, yet rarely questions why she has to. Men aren’t told to “have it all” because their worth isn’t tied to perfection across every life domain. Women, on the other hand, face judgment if they prioritize one area over another.
The truth is, “having it all” is a myth sustained by unrealistic expectations and unequal systems. Real empowerment comes from defining your own “enough” — and refusing to measure yourself against an impossible standard.
