At my kids’ school, long before they were there, a little girl died in accident leaving the school. Every year they still have a little ceremony in remembrance of her. Also the kids make little flags with a drawing depicting someone they miss or what missing someone feels like. These flags are draped around a walnut tree in the middle of the playground (it was planted after the accident). It’s a beautiful ritual where tears can flow and all emotions are welcome. 🥲
