I find it fascinating how quickly we judge someone based on the reference points our brains have, slotting them into categories. Sometimes, we operate more like an AI than (complex) AIs do. I don’t know if this is just my theory, but I’m convinced it’s tied to the sheer volume of content we—especially younger generations—consume daily. You see someone heading in a certain direction with an argument or statement, and it reminds you of something you’ve already encountered, so you immediately label it as the same. But it’s not. You haven’t seen everything. People are complex & nuanced. It’s very easy to develop a nihilistic worldview and a judgmental personality. It’s also easy to crumble under the overload of input, to become numb, and slip into constant defense or attack mode. Please don’t fall into this trap. Please choose light over darkness. Please stay curious. Please don’t operate with a brain that thinks in rigid categories. The spectrum is fluid and wide.
