this makes a lot of sense to me because I remember people analyzing or reflecting on how even googling something changed the dynamics of what is perceived as being ‘smart’ or intelligent.
Like when I was younger, I had Selective Mutism (a social anxiety disorder), except I didn’t know there was a name for it … I majored in Psychology hoping to understand it, and eventually found out the name for it when volunteering for a psychology research lab, where I had access to search an online psychology research paper database. Nowadays, kids could find out the name of it either by googling or having a chat with ChatGPT.
