Travys Owen | Flowing Vitality Travys Owen, a white photographer raised in South Africa, primarily focuses on photographing Black artists and models. His career began with designing illustrations and visual effects, and he excels in dynamic and surreal portrait photography. In Travys' bold and colorful aesthetic world, he continuously explores unconventional approaches to image-making, creating emotionally rich viewing experiences through both static and moving images. Tavys' works were featured in the Saatchi Gallery's 2023 photography exhibition "The New Black Vanguard: Photography Between Art and Fashion". The exhibited works engage in a dialogue around the themes of Black bodies and Black life, collectively celebrating Black creativity and the interplay between art, fashion, and culture in shaping identities. Challenging the notion of "Blackness as a monolith," the works serve as a form of visual activism.
