Slowly then suddenly, this is how traditional /finance is coming onchain.
Just this week:
- Robinhood will begin issuing 200+ tokenized US stocks and ETFs to EU customers directly on @arbitrum (and will also build a chain)
- @krakenfx launched 60+ tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs for non-US residents, powered by xStocks and issued by Backed.
- @solflare Stocks: tokenized versions of real U.S. stocks and ETFs (think $AAPLx, $METAx, $NFLXx, etc) backed 1:1, highly regulated, also powered by xStocks and issued by Backed.
This has profound consequences for for digital assets allowing global users to own U.S. equities (forget about "qualified investors" or "region locked").
Also forget about T+2, markets closed and hefty fees from brokers and intermediaries.
And say hello to stocks becoming composable money in DeFi.
