Elon Musk's net worth has crossed $600 billion, making him the first person ever to reach that level, according to Forbes. For those who don't know, Musk's fortune stood at $24.6 billion in March 2020.
The jump followed a SpaceX tender offer that valued the private rocket company at around $800 billion, up from $400 billion in August, lifting Elon Musk's net worth by $168 billion to about $677 billion.
SpaceX is targeting a 2026 IPO that could value the company at nearly $1.5 trillion, and Forbes estimates Musk owns about 42% of SpaceX, adding roughly $168
billion to his personal wealth.
Musk is now closer to becoming a trillionaire than to losing his top spot, holding a $425 billion lead over Larry Page and sitting just $23 billion short of the $700 billion mark.
