Chico rolls are actually the Australian version of Chinese spring rolls or egg rolls, with an outer shell made of egg and flour batter and filled with seasonings, carrots, cabbage, barley, mutton, celery and rice. Chico rolls are usually deep-fried and can be found in most Australian shops and restaurants. This snack was invented by Frank McEnroe in the 1950s and was usually served and sold at beachside food stands. In fact, Chico rolls are one of Australia's street foods.
