Hollandse Haring or simply “haring” is the most famous Dutch dish, so if you are a seafood lover, you should try it at least once. It is a dish of raw herring served with plenty of raw onions and pickles. First, the herring is cleaned; then the head is removed and it is salted. The Dutch take the herring by the tail and put it in their mouths and chew it whole, but if you can’t take the risk and put this raw fish straight into your mouth, you can ask the seller to cut it into pieces and give it to you as a sandwich on a piece of bread. This sandwich is called “Broode Haring”. If the herring you are eating was caught between May and July, it is called “Hollandse Nieuwe”. Herring is one of the most famous street foods in the Netherlands and you can find it all over Amsterdam and other cities in the Netherlands, but if you want to eat a real herring, it's better to head to the best restaurants in Amsterdam.

Migas is a popular Spanish and Portuguese dish made from leftover bread and ingredients such as bacon, chorizo, and grapes. Depending on the region where it is made, there are variations, such as using cornbread or pinto beans. It is often served as a side dish with other main dishes. Spanish migas is very easy to make and the ingredients are readily available. You start by soaking stale bread in water and adding some seasoning. Traditionally, you should let it sit overnight or until the bread is moist. If you don't have time, you can soak it for an hour. The breadcrumbs are cooked with pork, garlic, and meat until golden brown. Once cooked, it is served hot and usually in the same pan it was prepared in or on a large plate. Migas can be eaten at any time of the day, as it can be served as an appetizer, snack, side dish, lunch or breakfast. You can even have it for dinner.
