The Statue of Zeus at Olympia, crafted by Phidias circa 435 BC, stood 12.4 meters tall in the Temple of Zeus, Greece. A chryselephantine marvel, it depicted Zeus seated on a throne, adorned with ivory and gold. Though gone, its grandeur lives on in history and art.
