I accidentally got my early-teen son hooked on photography and Tool / A Perfect Circle / Puscifer, and I could not possibly be a prouder father right now. He’s also doing well in school, has had a girlfriend for more than six months, and has a range of other hobbies that keep him engaged when he’s bored. He spends much more time alone now than he used to, often on long calls with his girlfriend, but he still regularly makes time for me and still seeks out my opinion on what he’s doing throughout the day when we’re not doing something together. This is going far better than I had hoped when I used to think ahead to the teen years of parenting. I just hope the good fortune holds.
