🧵 10 Years of Ethereum - My Journey to Solo Staker July 2020 - Pandemic times. Started with Bitcoin, discovered trustless systems and self-custody. The feeling of controlling my own assets without relying on any single entity was incredible. Bitcoin mining was too professionalized, but Ethereum was transitioning from PoW to PoS - my chance to participate in securing a network! Dove deep: joined testnets, learned validator keys, terminal commands. Prysm was the only Windows client then. After testing, I staked 32 ETH at beacon chain launch. December 1st, 2020 - Validator #9004! ETH was $500. Pure joy when my validator attested its first block! 🎉 Followed @bankless @sassal0x @evan.eth religiously. Learned Git, joined Discord, put every spare dollar into ETH. Today, 100% of my net worth is in Ethereum. My life changed - I found my purpose as a solo staker, prioritizing client diversity for network security. Shoutout to @superphiz and home stakers for promoting decentralization! 🏠⚡
