for the past few days, I’ve been thinking more and more about @charlicohen article, in which she discusses the way we’ve been formatting ourselves for decades (first through social media, and now through AI) I can’t stop thinking about the fact that, even though this has been happening for a long time, today social media feels just as risky for our thinking as AI does we’ve been over-optimizing ourselves for years, but the way algorithms work now and what these “social” platforms require from us makes us think through every single step before sharing anything so I keep wondering, in Charli’s words: “Can we still think for ourselves? (And can we build technology that forces us to?)”🌹
