Paywalls may become more and more popular, and I believe that's a great thing, not just for revenue, but for community. I believe that when you actually pay for something, you become part of something. It creates a different kind of relationship between a platform and its readers.
Even though you can use tools to remove paywalls and read articles for free, I believe the disconnection that exists right now, between people, brands, and even communities, will make people start desiring more and more to belong to something.
This is why they're going to pay. At first glance, it may look like paying to read an article. But I believe what you're actually paying for is access into a community. And most people (if not all) want to belong to something🌹
