i am going through a period of inspiration as i have been creating a lot of art in the background in the past weeks (not sure why i haven’t shared any of it but i will)
and what i’ve realized is that i used to make art rich in elements, using environments, silhouettes, objects, and other elements to explore the core message and its layers
but lately i've been going the opposite way. i'm stripping pieces down to just a few elements, and if something pulls the piece away from the core message, i remove it. if it deepens the message, i keep it.
i believe started doing this because it allows the piece to focus only on its core message, and it also leaves more room for the viewer to question it.
even though i provide direction at times (through the elements, name, and statement), some pieces still may not make sense, and the viewer gets to decide what they mean to them.
it's their personal resonance and experience that defines the piece.🌹
