if we would have been saved only through faith by having our sins forgiven, why does the Word of God go beyond that?
because God wants us to be holy as He is Holy (1 Peter 1:16). God’s will is our sanctification (1 Thess. 4:3)
if, after we have repented and been born again (when our sins are forgiven), we haven’t also decided to do God’s will at all times and to actively do it until the end of our lives, we won’t be sanctified at all, and our salvation will be lost!!
