In Dare to Lead by Brené Brown:
“Vulnerability is not weakness; it’s our most accurate measure of courage.”
I’ve spent years hiding behind productivity, humor, and over-explaining. I thought strength meant never breaking down. But vulnerability? That’s the real bravery. Admitting I’m tired. Saying “I don’t know.” Asking for help. Texting a friend: “Can we just sit in silence?” Today, I did all three. My chest felt heavy afterward. Lighter too. I finally understood: courage isn’t loud. It’s quiet. It’s trembling hands sending that text. It’s saying “I’m not fine,” even when everyone expects you to be. I’m not fixing myself anymore. I’m honoring myself. And that’s the bravest thing I’ve ever done.
