Just imagine living in a world without mirrors. You fantasize about your face, and you imagine that your face is a reflection of what is inside you.
And then, when you are forty, someone holds a mirror up to you for the first time. Imagine your horror!
You will see the face of a stranger and you will clearly realize something you cannot accept: your face is not yourself.
