It's so interesting that actors who played characters from popular TV shows that especially had long runs seem to forever be known as that character and never seem to be able to have any other identity, in the eyes of people, even if they do newer and bigger projects. This doesn't seem to be nearly as common a phenomenon with movies, for obvious reasons. Are there any examples of anyone who successfully escaped this? (The phrasing here sounds negative but this is not always unwelcome by these actors. Some of them seem to embrace it as a positive thing.)
