Sammy was found while being beaten by baseball bats as a 6-8 week old puppy by police officers who responded to a domestic violence call. As he was a banned breed, in order to save this tiny beaten puppy, the responding officers needed to smuggle him out and omit his presence in all official reports. One of the responding officers decided to adopt him right then and he came home to me, where he was nursed back to health. He saved my life as much as I saved his as I had just lost my child the year before and was still emotionally trying to recover- and failing. He loved adventures and never knew a stranger (human or animal). He died late 2020 at 14 years old having beat cancer a few months earlier. Sammy was the best dog I've ever known and not a day goes by that I don't miss him or his cheeky demands.
