The Forgotten Anniversary
Lily had always been meticulous about dates, especially significant ones. Her boyfriend, Mark, however, wasn't as attentive. Their third anniversary was approaching, and Lily had dropped numerous hints about her excitement. The day arrived, and Mark didn't acknowledge it once. When Lily confronted him, he sheepishly admitted he had forgotten. The disappointment was palpable, and Lily's tears spoke volumes. The emotional rift created by that oversight was too deep to mend, and they drifted apart soon after.
