After 20 years in NYC I moved to Wilmington, NC a place that most people know very little about, but it is famous for three things: 1) Michael Jordan's hometown 2) The only place venus flytraps grow in the wild 3) A ton of stuff is filmed here On the left is a bad picture of Will Ferrell's character's car dealership in Eastbound and Down and on the right is a memorial to James Van Der Beek who spent years here while filming Dawson's Creek. My fiance lived in Wilmington during college and was there during the filming of the last season of Dawson's and a lot of the cast were part of her extended social circle. Years later in NYC she colored Michelle Williams hair for a movie and all Michelle wanted to do was talk about all their mutual friends in Wilmington. Other notable things filmed here include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Blue Velvet, The Crow (Brandon Lee died here) and a million other things. Mr. Beast films here on occasion and there's a show airing currently called RJ Decker out now that almost filmed in our house. Which was a bummer because that would have paid for all the work we've had to do to the place.
