Before I met my fiancé I didn't have any plants, but when we met I started buying her house plants instead of flowers because she had a bunch and then when she moved in suddenly I had to help take care of the plants. Fast forward a few years and now I have stolen her plant hobby and I went from novice to plant "expert" in a few years. Figured I would drop a few tips for beginners that that have really helped. These don't apply to every plant, but they apply to most of them. 1) My biggest tip is to mist your plants every day. This does a few things: a) humidity is good for most house plants and spider mites hate it b) it helps you form a routine and c) if you get the routine and you take even a few seconds every day to look at each plant you will notice problems early.
