I recently deleted my Reddit account and learned Reddit keeps all of your posts, and just "disassociates" your account from them. there's no option to delete everything.

Less than half of parents feel comfortable leaving their teenager alone in a hotel room while they get breakfast. That's crazy. tl;dr - It's a real divide and seems to have gotten worse since ~2012. Likely some of it is genetic, including predisposition to mental health issues. Conservativism (and religion) probably help people respond to adversity and continue to be happy. Many liberal ideologies likely exacerbate anxiety. The increase in these ideologies may explain changes since 2012.
