The Power of the Kanju and Manju
It’s impossible to draw Ryūjin without focusing on the waves.
Legend says he controls the tides using two magical jewels: the Kanju (Tide-Ebbing Jewel) and Manju (Tide-Flowing Jewel).
We wanted this piece to capture that moment of "Tide Flowing"—the raw power of the ocean responding to the dragon's will.
Question for mythology buffs: In visual depictions, do you prefer Ryūjin holding the jewels, or embodying the water itself?
