Bitcoin mining firm Riot Platforms withdraws bid to acquire Bitfarms, seeks to reshuffle board of directors. Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms (RIOT) has abandoned its proposed acquisition of Bitfarms (BITF) and hopes to reshuffle its board of directors before making further acquisitions. Riot Platforms has nominated John Delaney, Amy Freedman and Ralph Goehring to replace the current Bitfarms board members. Riot said in a press release Monday: “For more than a year, we have attempted to engage constructively with the Bitfarms board of directors regarding the potential merger of Bitfarms and Riot, but Riot has recognized that unless the Bitfarms board of directors makes it happen.” changes, good faith negotiations are simply not possible."
