Hello all, going to try some new stuff out here. Maybe I will transition from Reddit entirely soon enough.
10 ounces of Eagle Rare and 10 ounces of Knob Creek Single Barrel rested for about 5 months.
Proof: 110
Nose: oak, apple, cherry
Palate: vanilla, cream, oak
Finish: some fizzy cola and drying oak.
Rating: 8
Overall: With some time to meld, this improves a little from my original experiment. The oak is very prominent and drying, which I love. There's a hint of sweet fruit to go with the oak. To me, this drastically improves the Eagle Rare. It also improves on the Knob Creek. YMMV. Give the mixing a shot. You never know.
