I suddenly realized this bear market won’t create the same dramatic “rise and fall” stories as before.
Altcoin market caps are simply too small now — most holders don’t have much money to lose in the first place.
Think about it: ORDI dropping from 100 → 50 erased about $1B in market cap.
Back in 2021, many altcoins had tens of billions in circulation, and people were sitting on millions in unrealized profit… which then evaporated.
Today most altcoins only have a few tens of millions, maybe a few hundred million in circulating market cap. It’s almost impossible for the majority of retail to make “a few million” on paper.
Most supply is heavily controlled by project teams, and the true retail portion is tiny.
So in reality, altcoin holders are just going from “not much money” to “even less money.”
