Why I believe story is a business asset, not a weakness: Early on, I was told to separate my story from my work. Be more polished. Be less human. Stay on "the path" and never give too much of my honest self ... but that was a core part of me. I grew up in high school apart of a program public speaking about traumas, to help other students. We were taught therapy techniques so students could go to students for help. I ended my senior year with over 300 kids asking for me directly. What I learned instead is that story creates trust. Especially in business. Especially in art. People need people. Especially in an age of Al, being rampant everywhere. We are longing for humans to be more HUMAN. My journey includes wins, public success, burnout, loss, healing, and rebuilding. I don't hide that. I design around it. Every time I've wiped my instagram and socials, It hurt me. Leave your story to be seen by everyone, no matter how cringe It might feel. That cringe will turn into cool very soon.
