Animation Recommendation: Hedgehog in the Fog (1975) This is hands down one of the strangest and most fascinating masterpieces from the Soviet era. The story is simple, a hedgehog trying to visit a friend through the fog , but the vibe is super dark, surreal, and honestly kind of terrifying. It perfectly captures that Cold War anxiety and the editing is just top-tier (reminds you of Eisenstein!). Critics literally voted this the best animation of all time. You absolutely have to experience it. Have you seen any other Soviet animations before?
