Jighead Lure Tips for Mandarin Fish (Siniperca)
When targeting mandarin fish with a jighead setup, precision and patience are key. Use soft plastic lures like paddle tails or curly tails rigged on a 3–7g jighead, depending on water depth and current. Cast near underwater structures, rock piles, or submerged wood—places where mandarin fish love to ambush prey.
Let the lure sink to the bottom, then retrieve slowly with light twitches or a lift-and-fall motion. These fish often strike during the fall. Natural colors like silver, brown, or green work best in clear water. Avoid fast retrieves; mandarin fish prefer subtle, bottom-hugging movements.
Early morning or dusk is ideal, especially during spring and autumn. Stay quiet and accurate—precision beats power when chasing this territorial predator.
