Ethereum's 2026 plan has two main goals.
Boost data space for rollups using blobs.
And raise the base layer's gas limit for more execution.
This gas limit increase relies on validators.
They must switch to verifying ZK proofs instead of re-running blocks.
The first step, Fusaka, launched in December 2025.
It sets the stage for this major upgrade.
