I'm interested. Personally, I opted for a system common to all shops that deploy a token from Specuverse. A 12-month vesting of 65% of the supply, with the remaining 35% on the open market, and the 65% is intended solely to be redistributed to users in the form of incentives, burn, and so on. I figured that if we had a common model, we could capitalize on everything related to legislation, etc., where there's still a lot to be done in France. We’ll have a shared whitepaper, a transparent and unified operating model. I like the idea, we'll see how it goes in real life. The first launches will serve as a medium. 0 reply

quick ethics & best-practices checklist: be explicit about purpose & utility; legal first - consult counsel re: securities, kyc/aml, taxes; transparent tokenomics (total supply, allocations, vesting, inflation); fair distribution (limit whales, thoughtful airdrops/launches); smart contracts audited, open-source, bug-bounty active; treasury & keys on multisig + timelocks; avoid hidden mint/admin powers; align incentives (staking, utility, governance); regular, honest reporting to holders; plan for rescue/insurance; decentralize progressively - and don't rug. 0 reply

ETHICS & BEST PRACTICES OF DEPLOYING A TOKEN ( @clanker ECOSYSTEM EDITION) (For discussion 🫡)
1. Start with purpose clarity
Why are you deploying?
• Meme?
• Channel/community coin?
• Creator Coin? App Coin? Governance token?
• Builder or ecosystem token?
Each path comes with different expectations.
Be upfront about which one you’re walking.
Clarity is king.
2. Be clear with your intent & what you say
You can evolve a token from “it doesn’t mean anything, just for fun” into something you’re actually building with. That’s fine.
But you can’t go the other direction.
If you’ve said you’re doing anything beyond “just for fun,” then you’ve taken on that responsibility, tied directly to your wallet, your FID, and your onchain actions.
Blockchain = transparency = accountability.
3. Don’t rug your people
Just because Clanker LP is locked doesn’t mean founders can’t still dump their personal bags or pull any extra LP they’ve added.
Don’t do that.
That’s a guaranteed way to destroy trust.
Holders remember. Onchain is forever.
Reputations take time to build and seconds to shatter.
4. Transparency is non-negotiable
Thanks to Clanker.world
, supply, allocation, LP, and deployer details are all visible.
So the real responsibility is in your communication.
If you’re doing something with your token, you’re accountable for what you say and how you act.
Own it. Speak plainly.
Clanker culture runs on open ledgers, not backroom deals.
5. Don’t mix memes & promises
You can meme freely while building and delivering fully.
The key is keeping your word.
Whatever you promise, whether fun, art, community, or roadmap, make sure you follow through.
It’s not about hype. It’s about alignment between word and action.
6. Reputation compounds
Integrity compounds faster than charts.
Good Creators, Builders, and Projects grow by honoring those who backed them, even through pivots.
Snapshots for airdrops and allocations in your next project go a long way compared to rugging those who trusted you.
7. The Builder’s Path Forward
If you want to weave together multiple tokens, honor past holders, or build an ecosystem around your creations, that’s what EmpireBuilder.world /glanker exists for.
It helps you anchor everything around a solid core where all your streams, communities, and projects connect in one place.
When you structure soundly, you have room to evolve without screwing over the people who supported you.
Ultimately:
When you launch a token, you’re stepping into the onchain world and attaching something transparently to yourself.
You will be held accountable for what you say your relationship is with it, and what you do or don’t do from there.
That’s on you. 1 reply

hey dishGPT what are some ethics / best practices of deploying a Clanker on Base?
dishGPT:
Excellent — and timely, since “Clankers” (meme or utility) are emerging as a distinct subculture on Base, sitting at the crossroads of onchain art, humor, and functional experimentation.
Deploying a meme Clanker versus a utility Clanker carries overlapping but distinct ethical expectations. Below is a breakdown of shared principles first, for Base-native, Film3, and onchain culture tokens like a meme, art or utility Clanker.
🧠 Core Ethics & Best Practices for All Clankers on Base
(Applies to both meme and utility)
⚖️ 1. Transparency & Intent
Be clear about what you’re building.
State plainly if your Clanker is a meme, art project, or tool.
Disclose if it has utility or is purely cultural — don’t blur the two for hype.
Make contracts public and verified on BaseScan.
Document who controls the deployer (EOA, multisig, DAO, or none).
🔐 2. Smart Contract Integrity
Protect the chain’s credibility and users’ safety.
Use audited templates (OpenZeppelin) and test first on Base Sepolia.
Multisig or timelock control for any functions like minting, upgrades, or treasury movement.
Add a public README explaining upgradeability and permissions.
Never deploy opaque or malicious contracts (stealth mints, hidden taxes, honeypots).
🧩 3. Fair and Ethical Distribution
Clankers thrive on trust and cultural legitimacy.
Make minting and allocations transparent and reproducible.
Avoid insider pre-mints or stealth sales.
Lock or vest any team or “creator” supply.
Reward participation and creativity, not pure speculation.
Disclose any airdrop or liquidity bootstrapping mechanics clearly.
💬 4. Community Culture & Conduct
Base culture = open collaboration, not exploitation.
Don’t fake volume, followers, or liquidity.
Encourage derivative creativity — but credit original influences.
Be open to feedback and show up visibly (onchain, on Farcaster, on X).
No deception: memes are fun, but integrity sustains.
⚙️ 5. Legal & Ethical Alignment
Respect laws and people.
Don’t market Clankers as financial investments.
Avoid IP infringement — no stolen memes, art, or likenesses.
Add a short Terms of Use disclaimer: clarify there’s no profit expectation.
Be mindful of geo-restrictions if there’s any economic component.
🌍 6. Chain Citizenship
Being Based means being a good chain neighbor.
Credit open-source projects you fork or remix.
Avoid deploying spammy, duplicate, or misleading tokens.
Participate in Base events (Onchain Summer, grants, collaborations).
Give back: allocate a small portion to builders, artists, or community funds.
🎭 For Meme Clankers (Cultural / Art Projects)
Ethical principle: Make culture, not exit liquidity.
Be self-aware. Humor is welcome; deception is not.
Avoid exploitative “copy-memes.” Remix with respect and originality.
Stay consent-based. Don’t tokenize real people or identities without permission.
Acknowledge the meta. If it’s ironic, say so — irony without clarity reads like fraud.
Anchor in community values. Meme Clankers that celebrate Base, builders, or creative ethos resonate more than cash grabs.
Example best practices:
Deploy small, finite supply with no central control.
Use the token as a membership badge or digital artifact, not a speculative asset.
Include a “Clanker Manifesto” explaining its cultural story and ethics.
⚙️ For Utility Clankers (Functional / Access Tokens)
Ethical principle: Function precedes fandom.
Deploy only once the core function is live or near-live. Don’t pre-sell vaporware.
Document how the token interacts with tools, apps, or creative systems.
Provide clarity on governance or permissions (who can upgrade, pause, or integrate).
Separate economic use from access. Avoid framing as investment.
Regularly report progress or treasury usage if community-funded.
Example best practices:
Multisig or DAO manages treasury and upgrades.
Vesting for builders to show long-term commitment.
Public, versioned roadmap onchain or on GitHub.
🪞 7. The “Based” Ethical Standard
Base’s unspoken code is:
“Transparent code. Authentic culture. No scams. No spin.”
So whether meme or utility:
Be fun but accountable.
Be experimental but ethical.
Be Based — not extractive.
TL;DR — Clanker Code of Conduct
Principle Meme Clanker Utility Clanker
Intent Make culture, not profit Deliver access or coordination
Transparency Public contract & deployer Verified + documented logic
Distribution Fair, open, community-first Transparent, vested, multisig-controlled
Compliance Avoid impersonation/IP misuse Avoid securities implications
Culture Satirical, creative, consent-based Functional, service-aligned
Longevity Memetic legacy Sustainable infrastructure 0 reply
