I'm working on a fantasy campaign world that is rule set agnostic. It will focus on story, plot hooks, & compelling NPCs. It will be available for free online, and the campaign world will change based on NFT holder participation. https://paragraph.xyz/@danadams1278gmail.com/participatory-nfts-web-3-and-dnd-meet

Ok...pre-reading the article that you guys will be talking about. This part really struck me. "when people match their crazy to the right outlet, they become terrifyingly powerful" That is very much what I want for my children. My son (15) is going off to college early (he was accepted into a program). I describe him as brilliant, but rudderless. I find it difficult to provide good advice, because I’m 50 and still struggling to find my own place in the world. 😆 If I’m honest, I’ve never done the “unpacking” that the article described until the past couple years. I found a job that paid well and just stuck there. In truth, I find most of it tedious (expect when I’m able to apply it to my own interests). I think colleges will be going through a radical shift. They can’t continue just teaching the same things and churning out pieces of paper and expect that to have value. What I REALLY want for my son is the space to explore his interests, find out what he is talented in, and make a career out of that intersection by learning keeping and developing the sort of “specific knowledge” that Naval talks about. How the hell to match our crazy with the right outlet is DIFFICULT.

Another session of Familiar Things is a wrap (the kids are having a BLAST)! This one started with some miniature painting, and then more familiar adventures. This time, they ventured to the apothecary where they encountered Zymerwerwit's pet baby beholder (who was delighted to have visitors).

Oh wait! This is Age of Innovation! I should have looked at the image closer. I haven't played that yet.

Nice. It has been ages since I've played it, but I enjoy Terra Mystica quite a bit. Which faction did you play? I enjoy Gaia Project quite a bit as well (I got the new expansion, but have yet to get it on the table).

Let me know how you like it. I downloaded a starter pack, but never did anything with it. I finally got to play Shadowdark (another one on my radar). It felt a little rules light for me (I tend to like the crunch), but I enjoyed it well enough and could easily see running some one-shots (the torch/light can add in some tension, which could be fun).

It isn't easy being positive all the time. It also isn't easy when you don't feel heard. The "screaming into the void" is a hard one to overcome. I suspect that is part of the reason why you created the /wac channel. I admit to having similar problems - staying positive when you feel like you're drowning half the time, and trying to build attention and momentum (which is REALLY difficult when you're doing it solo). I have an idea (not that far from what I think you're trying to do with /wac). I'll throw that idea your way.

I don't know the full context of what you've been through, but I can sympathize. I've been in this mode since 2019. 🙁 Sometimes, all you can do is put one foot in front of the other and continue moving forward. For what it is worth, I have enjoyed and appreciated the art that you've shared.

I like this one a fair bit. One of the better worker placements. The deck building component was also more impactful to the game than I initially gave it credit for. I REALLY want to try out the team variant.

These were the board games that I purchased at this year's Origins Game Fair. I'll post more photos when I get them on the table.

I think it's a great game -the initial occupation and minors draft is where the magic is for me. I love the planning, pacing, and constrained actions. Discovering synergies and planning out your actions / pacing is just FUN. High re-playability and strategic. It's in my top 3.
